Ibn Khaldun
Ibn Khaldun, the great Islamic historian and sociologist, observed that civilizations flourish when craftsmanship is honored. He saw craft not as labor alone, but as a reflection of ʿasabiyyah—social cohesion, collective pride, and cultural maturity.
William Morris
Centuries later, William Morris echoed this wisdom through a different lens—arguing that honest construction, beauty with purpose, and "Joy in Craftsmanship" are essential to meaningful design. Objects, he believed, should carry the dignity of the maker and the soul of the process.
House of Tajir exists at the convergence of these ideas.
